dixie yure is the incarnation of contemporary oldschool house music from seville. after some digital only releases it is about time for some haptic experience. with the 10“ record „show me satisfaction“ on berlin-based label fenou his sound is rotating on turntables for the first time. monotonous minimalism ain’t dixie yures world. the sound tends more towards 2step and builds a homogeneous and pleasant mixture with classical house elements and vocal parts. you just cant deny yourself dancing the >chicken dance< and stepping like hell! thanks to the funky improvisations extending over the whole track you wont get bored even after listening to >show me< for the hundredth time. the a-side is just fun - in the club as well as on your couch. you wont miss the low-pitched vocals on the b-side either as they are typical for the spanish producer. >satisfaction< is a little more reduced than >show me< but is enhanced with jazz elements such as pianos and saxophones. it shows that wind instruments in electronic music dont have to be annoying tribal elements. in this example acoustic instruments do not just get mixed up with house music but merge to one groove – absolutely rocking tune!

ninja tune records have kindly allowed aus music to release some of sideshows deep, intensely dubbed-out interpretations of the latest fink album sort of revolution, the critically acclaimed international singer-songwriters third album for the legendary stable. on the vinyl we have the two sideshow rubs of the albums lead singles. sort of dubolution (a dub of the albums title track), comes as a classic sideshow live dub epic, drenched in fink?s signature vocals alongside an earth-moving bass line. follower dub it all (an edit of finkssee it all) is a stabbier, angular take on the original reminiscent of scubas recent late-night masterpieces.

egbert provides an energetic yet deep and hypnotic techno track while roger martinez delivers a giorgio moroderesque italo influenced tech houser. on the flip, its kaap de goede hoop who bring some warm deep housey flavours to the mix and arjuna schiks who finishes it off with a big funky percussive groover.

our dutch counterpart onno is known for his dance floor mastery. his after school ep on upon you was a multifunctionalmover that could teach any lethargic raver a few aerobic moves. >hit me< is in the same league and is completely unsuitable for yoga and pilates, so hes succesfully targeted the blonde dance instructor once again. onno brings the a1 fatburner to a peak with his charming impertinence. thomas schuhmachers pimped version of this awesome rave stepper on b1 tugs and pulls at your pants dragging you kicking and screaming to the dance parquet, where you soon realize that you never want to leave, but for those of you that want to lose some weight also know that you always need to condition yourself and >ghetto talk< on b2 is the perfect bouncy tune for that hour or so on the treadmill.

las wax returns with a tight two-tracker of deep techno-house couresy of japans takayuki higo. this is definitely a departure from the typical wax sound, but this record still works nicely. a-side >big head house< has a dope minimal detroit feel to it and fits nicely with some of the recent techy output on wave. flip for >wicked tokyo< which is a blissfuldeep tech excursion for the late night sets. if you like francois ks techno side and jeff mills going deep, you will dig this newie.
